My little guy has had a blast exploring our new home and neighborhood! He throws out a casual "HI GUYS" to anyone passing by our house... he is becoming Mr. Social and it is just hilarious how comfortable he is becoming in his own little skin. He is obsessed with FireFighters- which is full circle for me as my grandfather was a fireman. The picture above was a special day for Arlington, TX as well as for Davis! The first home game of the World Series with the Rangers and the Giants brought a full TEXAS spirit to the Durkins! The brainwashing has begun with my son by our dear neighbors (Arlington Natives) and Davis has a serious mean "CLAW". As we headed to a Rangers party to watch the Series, there was a firetruck parked at the local grocery store and the firemen were stocking up on snacks for the game. When we pulled up, Davis was blown away (as usual) with the truck. The firemen insisted he sit up in the front seat and they gave him a big hat and "Jr. Firefighter" sticker. Yes, I know they do this for every kid- but how do these special men (and women!) make each child feel like they are so special???? It was just the best feeling watching this.
We have had nothing but great experiences since moving halfway across the country and away from family and friends.... one of the harder moves we have ever made. I am learning that a "family" comes in many many forms.
